CS'ta Time Odyssey

Both Jorge and I woke up around 0500 this morning with the wind just howling! We were informed by a sailor that a big power boat was dragging and was pretty close to the wall surrounding the lake. He jumped in his dinghy, woke the owners and saved the day (and the boat.)

The sun was out most of the day but we did get a few sun showers, nothing serious and the temp was again back to the mid 20s.

Jorge's only boat job today was to pull the speed indicator again. A small barnacle had anchored himself to the inside preventing the wheel from spinning. Jorge was cautious the first time he removed the speed indicator but this time it was like routine!

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I bought more groceries yesterday while in town. It was mostly meats that had to be repackaged and frozen, that was my job today. Much to Jorge's dismay, everything found a place and I have room for more! No more weight he groaned.

We visited a few boats in the anchorage and said "see you on the water", not goodbye because you always tends to meet up again, down the water in a few anchorages or so.

Diana and Gilbert have been in touch with us. Diana informed me of laundry facilities in No Name Harbour so I decided that job could wait. There is a short weather window happening today and tomorrow that they are taking advantage of, with a couple we met back in the Oswego Canal, to jump to the Bahamas. Hopefully our weather window will come soon and we can again catch up to them.

We have been in contact with previous owners of CS'ta Time (then called Alfran) and have received some valuable info regarding the boat and their experiences in the Bahamas. Thank you Donna and John.

We had our last showers at Las Olas Marina today (Ft. Lauderdale's municipal marina), had supper and then had Stefano and Helen over for coffee and cake to say our farewells. They may be leaving Lake Sylvia on Thursday and heading to Miami and probably No Name Harbour so there is a good chance we will see them again before we head to the Bahamas and before they head back to Australia.

We have the alarm set for 0500 tomorrow hoping to catch the 0600 bridge opening. Around 0700 there are three cruise ships coming into the harbour and they close the waterway for safety reasons until the ships have docked. We do not want to have to wait for them as it could take a couple of hours. We would rather get to our destination and anchor early afternoon rather than late afternoon.
