Jorge's inner warning device went off shortly before 0700 this morning. He bounced out of bed only to find relatively mild winds and both anchors holding well. Unfortunately we were wide awake at that point (no going back to sleep) so for us it was an early morning. To take advantage of the rain that was forecast, Jorge spent the morning scrubbing the deck and then waited for the rinse which did come around 1230, along with a few gusts of wind but nothing as predicted. It did rain hard though for a few hours.
Lynn had lunch with us (Sally was still away) and as he had rented a car last weekend to visit friends in Washington and had it until mid afternoon, he volunteered to be our chauffeur for a few hours. Holy, the first time we have been in a car since Waterford (the town at the end of the Erie locks in upper New York). We donned our wet gear and headed over to the dinghy dock. The guys hit Home Depot after dropping me off, where else but the grocery store!
After getting back to the boat and drying off, it was nice to curl up on the settee with a blanket and listen to the rain. By suppertime, the rain had stopped, the wind totally diminished and the creek was like a millpond. The storm had certainly not been as severe as predicted although they are calling for the winds to increase again overnight.
Supper was homemade pizza (not like the frozen one) and was a hit.
Jorge marvels at least once a day, about floating in the middle of Annapolis, with all the luxuries.
Bed will be early tonight.
